KUWAIT: Zain Kuwait sponsored the Your Voice Reflects Your Humanity conference to raise awareness about verbal abuse against women, held at Sheikh Jaber Al Ahmad Cultural Center (JACC) in conjunction with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. The event was held under the patronage of Dr Amthal Hadi Al-Huwailah, Minister of Social, Family and Childhood Affairs and Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs.
Zain took part in the opening of the conference, joined by the Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, Muna Fajhan Hilal Al-Mutairi, Zain Kuwait’s Corporate Relations Department Manager Hamad Al-Musaibeeh, along with a group of specialists and representatives of participating entities.
Zain’s support for this event reflects its keenness to contribute to national initiatives that strengthen joint efforts to protect women’s rights and create a safe environment free from all forms of violence, particularly verbal abuse, which leaves deep impacts on family stability and individuals’ mental health. The conference was organized by the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in cooperation with the Supreme Council for Community Affairs at the Kuwait Lawyers Association, and featured a panel discussion on verbal abuse against women and its psychological, social and legal effects.

The event brought together representatives of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, psychologists, family relationship consultants, representatives of the Public Prosecution and the Cybercrime Department, as well as lawyers and specialists, who presented the psychological, legal and procedural dimensions related to verbal abuse and explained the mechanisms for filing complaints and handling cases inside and outside the State of Kuwait, supported by real-life stories and illustrative court rulings.
Zain affirmed that its support for this initiative is in line with its commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals, including Goal 5 on gender equality and Goal 16 on building peaceful and just societies. The company is keen to harness its capabilities in support of initiatives that protect the rights of women, while fostering a community culture based on mutual respect and shared responsibility.
