KUWAIT: Zain Kuwait supported the World Diabetes Day event organized by the Ministry of Health at The Avenues Mall. The event was held alongside the health awareness campaign titled ‘Better Health with Diabetes’ organized by the Endocrinology and Diabetes Department at Al-Amiri Hospital under the patronage and attendance of Minister of Health, Dr Ahmad Abdulwahab Al-Awadhi.
This step comes in line with Zain’s ongoing efforts to implement its corporate social responsibility, which places support for health initiatives among its priorities. The company is keen on playing an active role in activities that aim to raise awareness of chronic diseases and methods of prevention.
Zain also continues to support campaigns and programs launched by official bodies and healthcare institutions, foremost among them the Ministry of Health, affirming the role of the private sector as a key partner in promoting community health and achieving sustainable development goals related to quality of life.
The event featured participation from members of the Endocrinology and Diabetes Department team at Al-Amiri Hospital, who offered free medical tests and engaged with visitors of all ages, in addition to providing specialized medical consultations that help raise awareness about prevention, treatment, and proper management of diabetes.
This event comes within the framework of the Ministry of Health’s plan and strategy for health awareness and direct outreach to all segments of society, coinciding with World Diabetes Day. It aims to strengthen prevention and limit the spread of the disease and its associated complications by offering awareness and educational activities in interactive venues accessible to the public.
The event presented a complete picture of collaboration between the medical team of doctors, nurses, technicians, and administrators and members of the community, through their on-site presence at one of Kuwait’s largest shopping centers. Such collaboration helps spread awareness of the importance of early screening and encourages patients and those at risk to monitor their health on a regular basis.
