New step strengthens Kuwait’s position as a leading cultural, tourist destination
KUWAIT: Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi affirmed that the cooperation agreement signed between the national tourism platform Visit Kuwait and Jazeera Airways marks a new step toward strengthening Kuwait’s position as a leading cultural and tourist destination in the region and beyond.
Speaking during the signing ceremony, Al-Mutairi said the agreement represents a model of successful integration between the public and private sectors in support of the goals of the “New Kuwait 2035” vision and in line with the forward-looking directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
The minister noted that the agreement reflects the Information Ministry’s strategic direction to develop a comprehensive digital tourism communication system, enhance partnerships, and unify promotional efforts under one national platform that highlights Kuwait’s cultural, historical, and humanitarian identity. “National development in tourism is achieved through genuine partnerships with the private sector based on innovation, shared responsibility, and investment in Kuwait’s unique assets — its heritage, culture, and strategic geographical location,” Al-Mutairi said.

He emphasized that collaboration with Jazeera Airways underscores the importance of harnessing technology and digital tools to enhance the visitor experience and promote Kuwait’s diverse tourism and cultural events throughout the year. He pointed out that the success of the tourism system depends on the synergy and integration of roles across all sectors, stressing that every institution can be an active partner in enriching Kuwait’s tourism offering through services, events, and creative initiatives that add value and elevate the visitor experience.
Al-Mutairi called on all private sector partners to invest in the national platform and contribute to building a comprehensive tourism ecosystem that reflects Kuwait’s modern, civilized, and humanitarian image. He expressed his appreciation to the Visit Kuwait team and Jazeera Airways’ management for their efforts in finalizing the agreement, describing it as a milestone in advancing national tourism and strengthening Kuwait’s presence on the regional and international tourism map.
For his part, Jazeera Airways Chairman and CEO Marwan Boodai said the agreement reflects the fruitful partnership between the public and private sectors and the alignment of their efforts toward promoting tourism in Kuwait. He added that the initiative represents a practical step in implementing the government’s “Kuwait Vision 2035” strategy to diversify income sources, stimulate the national economy, and enhance Kuwait’s global tourism standing. Boodai revealed that the agreement will introduce a “stopover package” allowing travelers to spend several days in Kuwait to experience its attractions and culture — a tourism service that was previously unavailable.
He praised the Ministry of Interior’s recent facilitation of visa issuance and entry procedures, which has made welcoming tourists more efficient and convenient. He highlighted that tourism is one of the key sectors driving economic growth and job creation in the Gulf region, noting that regional visitors spend an average of $2,500 per trip — a significant contribution to the economy. Boodai urged Kuwaiti youth to explore opportunities in the growing tourism industry, including aviation, hospitality, and travel services, emphasizing that the sector offers vast potential for innovation and employment. — KUNA
