KUWAIT, Dec 27 : 1975 — An Amiri Order has been issued establishing Burgan Bank, with a KD 10 million capital.
1980 — Kuwait Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah issues a decree-into-law stipulating military conscription for every Kuwaiti citizen aged between 18 and 30. The decree allows the military draft for non-married female citizens of the same ages.
1981 — The Islamic Heritage Revival Society is proclaimed. The charity has branches in all Kuwaiti regions.
1984 — Abdulatif Saleh Al-Mislem dies at the age of 88. He is remembered as a prominent philanthropist and businessman in Kuwait.
1985 — Suleiman Ibrahim Al-Mislem dies at the age of 96. He was among the Kuwaitis who took part in Al-Jahraa and Ragee battles and one of the founders of Kuwait Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
1986 — Kuwait Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah issues a decree stipulating that a clearing chamber will be set up to settle transactions of financial securities recorded at the Kuwaiti stock exchange.
1990 — Kuwait Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah holds talks with the Chinese President Chiang Ching-kuo during the latter’s visit to Kuwait, addressing means of ending the Iraqi occupation of the State of Kuwait.
1994 — Kuwait Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah issues a decree approving Kuwait’s joining of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), adopted on May 9, 1992.
