KUWAIT: 1936 — Four Palestinian teachers arrived in Kuwait by land to work at Al-Mubarakiya and Al-Ahmadiya schools, the first non-Kuwaiti teachers to work in the country, in line with a recruitment decision by the Council of Education.
1968 — The State of Kuwait established the Police College. The first batch was enrolled in October 1969.
1994 — Iraq’s Revolutionary Council acknowledged, in a statement, Kuwait’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and political independence, in compliance with UN Security Council Resolution 833 (1993).
2010 — The UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) announced that Dr. Fayza Al-Kharafi, a chemistry professor at Kuwait University, won its 2011 L’Oreal-UNESCO Award for Women in Science for Africa and the Arab regions, in recognition of her scientific research in corrosion in water treatment and oil industries.
2012 — The State of Kuwait was registered in the Guinness World Records for organizing the biggest-ever fireworks display to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Constitution.
2019 — Kuwaiti shooter Saud Habib qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics after winning the bronze medal in the skeet shooting event of the 14th Asian shooting tournament held in Qatar.
2021 — Assistant Secretary for Cultural Affairs at the Kuwait National Council for Culture Arts, and Letters (NCCAL), Mohammad Al-Asousi, passed away at the age of 56 after a long and illustrious career.
2024 — Kuwaiti cultural researcher and television presenter Saleh Al-Methen passed away at age 66 after a long and illustrious career. — KUNA
