KUWAIT: Under the patronage and presence of Sheikh Nawaf Saud Nasser Al-Sabah, CEO of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC), and with the participation of leaders from the oil sector, KPC held a celebration on the occasion of “International Youth Day”, which is celebrated this year under the theme “Local Youth Action to achieve sustainable development goals and beyond”, on August 12, 2025 at the KPC Theater.
In his speech during the ceremony, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Sabah emphasized that supporting youth is a top priority and a key objective of the oil sector, based on a deep belief in their pivotal role in the national march in general and the march of excellence and success of the oil sector in particular.
The CEO explained that the organization is keen to nurture young nationals, listen to their voices and invest in their tremendous energies and innovative initiatives, as they are the planting of the present and the leaders of the future, so that they can effectively contribute to the achievements of the oil sector, the backbone of the national economy.

“Investing in the potential of Kuwaiti youth is an investment in the future of the entire oil sector. We believe that empowering young talents, honing their skills and providing them with the necessary knowledge enhances our ability to innovate, excel and continue to lead this vital sector. Today’s youth are tomorrow’s leaders, and training them ensures the sustainability of the human capital to serve our nation,” he added.
The event included a presentation on the role of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council, as well as two panel discussions, one entitled “The Role of Youth Committees in Creating Change” and the other entitled “Youth Success Stories”, which included rich interactive discussions on the key and unique role of youth in achieving sustainable development goals at various levels.
