KUWAIT: The Kuwait Sports for All Federation has opened registration for the upcoming National Sports Day, scheduled for February 7 at Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Causeway. The event will be held under the patronage of Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi. In a statement on Thursday, the federation encouraged all interested participants to register through the official portal https://visitkuwait.gov.kw. The initiative aims to promote a culture of sports and foster healthy lifestyles across Kuwaiti society.
Bashar Abduallah, acting Director-General of the Public Authority for Sports, said the event reflects the state’s vision of making sports a lifestyle and highlights the leadership’s commitment to supporting community sports, public health and overall quality of life. He noted that the day is not limited to physical activity alone but carries a broader awareness message targeting all age groups, including children, youth, the elderly and people with disabilities.
“The programs and activities for National Sports Day have been carefully designed to suit different ages and abilities,” Abdullah said.
He added that the Public Authority for Sports works closely with the Kuwait Sports for All Federation, other government institutions, private sector partners and NGOs to ensure the event’s success.
The statement emphasized that National Sports Day promotes inclusion, equal opportunity, and the principle that sports are for everyone, not limited to any single group. Citizens and residents are encouraged to take part and translate the day into a habit that reflects patriotism and social belonging. Details about the event schedule and specific locations will be announced through official channels in the coming days. — KUNA
