KUWAIT: Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Energy Ali Pervez Malik visited Kuwait to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the oil and energy sector. During the visit, he met Kuwait’s Minister of Oil Tareq Salman Al-Roumi. The meeting was attended by Sheikh Nawaf Al-Sabah, Chief Executive Officer of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation. According to a statement from the Embassy of Pakistan, discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in the oil sector and strengthening Pakistan-Kuwait relations.
A dinner was hosted on Tuesday evening at the Kuwait Towers in honor of Malik during his official visit to Kuwait. The event was hosted by Kuwaiti-based Pakistani businessmen Shamshad Khan Tanoli and Mohamad Nadeem Chaudhry. Addressing attendees at the dinner, Tanoli thanked the minister for accepting the invitation and for engaging with the Pakistani community in Kuwait. He noted that the minister listened to community concerns and responded to questions. The minister briefed attendees on Pakistan’s international standing and the priorities of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif’s government.

The event was attended by officials from the Embassy of Pakistan in Kuwait, executives from Pakistani banks operating in Kuwait and members of the business community. The minister was accompanied by a delegation that included Shehbaz Nadeem, secretary of petroleum; Ahmed Lak, director at OGDCL Pakistan; and Ashar Anwar, general manager for supply at PSO Pakistan. In closing remarks, Tanoli thanked the minister for attending, while Malik said he was pleased to meet members of the Pakistani community in Kuwait.
