KUWAIT: The Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) affirmed that its recognition at the Sahel II Forum reflects the advanced position it has achieved in adopting digital solutions and enhancing services provided to citizens. The forum, organized by the Executive Committee for the Unified Government Application for Electronic Services (Sahel and Sahel Business), was held Wednesday in the presence of Minister of State for Communications Omar Al-Omar. In a press statement Thursday, Deputy Director General for Public Relations and Development at the Authority, Omar Al-Ruwaieh, said the recognition highlights the Authority’s achievements in developing electronic services and launching innovative digital initiatives that enhance institutional performance and service quality.
Al-Ruwaieh explained that the Authority was honored for its pioneering video communication service, which facilitates direct interaction between citizens and PAHW employees, enabling users to complete transactions and follow up on requests digitally. He added that the Authority was selected among three government entities to present its experience with the service during a panel discussion on successful government digital initiatives.
During the discussion, Munira Al-Abduljader, Director of the Citizen Service Department, presented the Authority’s experience with the video communication service, outlining its concept, objectives, and role in improving communication with citizens while ensuring flexible and efficient service delivery. Al-Ruwaieh added that the Authority also received recognition for its Documentation Journey project, which streamlines the process from opening a file and submitting documents to obtaining approvals and issuing property ownership certificates. He noted that the project integrates with the Sahel application to expedite certain procedures, contributing to the state’s comprehensive digital transformation goals.
The forum brought together senior government officials, representatives of public institutions, and specialists in digital service development. Participants reviewed successful government experiences using the Sahel and Sahel Business platforms, while all participating entities and the executive committee were honored. Entities contributing to the Newborn Journey and Home Document Issuance Journey were also recognized. The forum concluded with a closed session chaired by Minister Al-Omar, where government representatives discussed priorities for advancing digital services, shared challenges, and emphasized the importance of coordination to deliver a seamless, citizen-focused government experience. — KUNA
