KUWAIT: The Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) announced two new tenders to complete the surface asphalt layer, pedestrian walkways, and paving works in six suburbs of Al-Mutlaa City, as part of its ongoing plan to develop the city’s infrastructure.
Deputy Director General for Control and Information Systems, Amina Al-Awadhi, stated in a press release on Thursday that the first tender covers suburbs N9, N10, and N11, while the second covers suburbs N6, N7, and N8. Al-Awadhi added that the contract duration is 730 days, noting that the tenders will be issued starting December 7, with the deadline for submitting bids being January 8, 2026. She explained that the scope of work includes the asphalt layer, regulatory road markings, paving, tiling, and pedestrian walkways within the suburbs, emphasizing that these works represent a crucial phase in fulfilling the city’s requirements and enhancing its operational readiness.
Al-Awadhi affirmed the Public Authority for Housing Welfare’s continued commitment to launching and implementing infrastructure projects in Al-Mutlaa City, ensuring the highest quality standards and monitoring contractors’ adherence to timelines to guarantee completion according to the city’s approved plan.
Meanwhile, the PAHW also announced Thursday the signing of a contract for the construction of 10 public buildings and related services and infrastructure in the N5 district center of Al-Mutlaa Residential City. PAHW Acting Director General Rashid Al-Enezi stated in a press release that the contract includes the construction, completion and maintenance of 10 public buildings, comprising the main central market, the main health center, an ambulance center, a police station, a citizen service building, a municipality building, a post office, a social services building, a community development center, and a Ministry of Commerce and Industry building.
Al-Enezi added that the contract also includes the construction of shops and three electrical substations, in addition to the implementation of services and infrastructure works in the N5 district center. He explained that the contract value is KD 20.61 million (approximately $68 million), and it is to be completed within 900 days.
He noted that the PAHW is currently overseeing the construction of 160 service buildings in the city’s suburbs, including three mosques and three imam residences. The project includes a muezzin, 16 kindergartens, 10 primary schools, 8 intermediate schools, 4 secondary schools, a specialized health center, 3 general health centers, 4 integrated health centers with ambulance stations, 3 gas branches, and 7 buildings designated for central markets.
He added that the foundation is also monitoring the implementation of police stations, citizen service centers, post offices, municipal offices, social units, community development centers, Ministry of Commerce and Industry centers, and commercial shops, noting that the pace of completion is progressing well according to the approved timelines for these projects. — KUNA
