KUWAIT: Director General of the National Fund for Small and Medium Enterprise Development (NFSME) Basma Al-Jassem reaffirmed the Fund’s commitment to financing initiatives that align with the state’s strategic priorities, particularly in the fields of tourism and technology. Speaking on Sunday during a preparatory meeting for the Fund’s delegation to 2025 Osaka Expo in Japan, Al-Jassem stressed the importance of supporting entrepreneurs in international forums and showcasing the state’s care for them, especially through participation in a global event of this magnitude.
She noted that two innovative technology projects were selected in coordination with the Ministry of Information to represent Kuwait at the exhibition, describing the move as a strategic step in promoting entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation, and a cornerstone of the “New Kuwait 2035” vision. During the meeting, entrepreneur Fatima Al-Janaei presented her project “Rumble Gym,” funded by the Fund, which introduces modern techniques in sports training and is expected to attract significant interest in Japan, known as a global hub for technological advancement.

Entrepreneur Abrar Al-Rasheed also highlighted her project “The Horse Co” application, established in 2017 with Fund support, which offers a comprehensive platform for horse and equestrian supplies. The application currently provides services to more than 30 local and international companies. Established under Law No 98 of 2013, the National Fund aims to support small and medium enterprises, create new job opportunities in non-oil sectors, and enable entrepreneurs to transform their ideas into sustainable ventures. — KUNA
