KUWAIT: The National Guard held a public draw to select a new batch of cadet officers holding high school certificates, under the patronage of National Guard Chief Sheikh Mubarak Humoud Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. Thirty-five students were nominated for the draw, conducted in the presence of Protection and Reinforcement Commander Major General Hamad Ahmed. A total of 289 applicants had passed the initial selection stage, the National Guard said in a press statement.
Of the 35 candidates selected, five will pursue military studies in Saudi Arabia, five in Qatar, and 25 will be nominated to join Ali Al-Sabah Military College in Kuwait. Major General Hamad Ahmed conveyed the congratulations of Sheikh Mubarak Humoud Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Deputy National Guard Chief Sheikh Faisal Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah to the selected cadets. He emphasized the National Guard’s commitment to upholding justice and equal opportunity, noting that transparency is a core principle followed throughout the admissions process, culminating in the public draw.
Major General Ahmed wished the successful candidates academic success and urged them to remain dedicated and disciplined so that upon graduation they can effectively support their leaders and colleagues while contributing to the National Guard’s continued excellence. The National Guard highlighted that the draw aligns with the objectives of its 2030 strategic plan, Protecting the Nation, which focuses on scientifically qualifying personnel from the outset of their training. The plan emphasizes sending cadets to military academic institutions in Kuwait and abroad to ensure professional development and prepare them for future military responsibilities. — KUNA
