KUWAIT: The National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) unveiled a new mural in Sharq on Saturday, part of its Al-Fenn Al-Thalith program, the national project for mural arts. The initiative is a collaboration with the Canadian Embassy in Kuwait.
Canadian visual artist Bryan Beyung worked alongside Kuwaiti artist Yousef Saleh on the piece. “This creates opportunities for Kuwaiti and international artists, enhancing cultural exchange,” said NCCAL secretary-general Dr Mohammad Al-Jassar. The mural highlights a shared maritime theme, illustrating the challenges of life at sea. “It depicts our ancestors diving for pearls in Kuwait and fishing amid the ice in Canada,” Al-Jassar said. — KUNA
