KUWAIT: Kuwait Municipality announced on Tuesday the removal of 55 illegal camps operating without permits, alongside the issuance of 75 removal warnings in the country’s northern region. In a press statement, the municipality said that the Spring Camping Committee continues its efforts to dismantle camps operating outside designated areas and without the required permits, in coordination with the Ministry of Interior and the Kuwait Fire Force.
The statement emphasized that committee teams will maintain their presence at all camping sites to ensure compliance with municipal regulations and enforce the removal of unauthorized camps. The camping season in Kuwait began on November 15 and will continue until March 15, 2026. Citizens and residents wishing to obtain a camping permit can register through the municipality’s website, where specific insurance and permit fees apply to avoid camp removal.
Meanwhile, Minister of Public Works Dr Noura Al-Mashaan confirmed her continued field oversight of major maintenance projects across various regions, ensuring adherence to approved technical specifications and accelerating project completion. Dr Al-Mashaan said ministry teams visited the Al-Ardiya area (Block 2) to monitor progress on ongoing maintenance work, which currently includes laying the surface layer.
She noted that maintenance has already been completed on plots 1, 4, and 5 in the same area, as well as Barak Al-Haifi Street, under the same contract. She added that technical reports submitted by project supervisor Engineer Abdullah Al-Mutairi confirmed the teams’ adherence to work plans, stressing that direct field monitoring reflects the ministry’s commitment to enhancing road network efficiency and improving infrastructure quality in residential neighborhoods. — KUNA
