KUWAIT: Kuwait Municipality launched a nationwide field inspection campaign on Monday to address violations involving encroachments on state property and to ensure compliance with safety regulations across all six governorates. Head of the inspection team in Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate, Hamad Akbar, told KUNA that the campaign aims to enforce municipal regulations concerning illegal structures and take immediate action against safety breaches, including the removal of unlicensed constructions on public land.
As part of Monday’s efforts, inspection teams toured the Subhan and Al-Masayel industrial zones, where six violations were recorded in both industrial and residential sectors. Several warnings were also issued to project sites found to be non-compliant with safety standards for workers. Akbar stressed that the Municipality’s inspection teams will continue to take firm action against violators, ensuring strict enforcement of relevant laws and regulations. “Encroachment regulations are in place to preserve the safety of facilities adjacent to real estate and ongoing construction projects, while also safeguarding workers on-site,” he noted.
He revealed that upcoming inspection campaigns will concentrate on companies and factories unlawfully exploiting state-owned land. Akbar urged business owners and developers to obtain the necessary licenses and permits to avoid penalties. He further emphasized the importance of abiding by municipal laws and regulations, affirming that safety inspection teams across all governorates are committed to enforcing the Municipality’s directives through intensified field operations. — KUNA
