KUWAIT: Kuwait Municipality has underscored the importance of engaging the private sector in maintaining public cleanliness, noting its vital role in achieving sustainable development and raising community awareness. Faisal Al-Otaibi, Director of the Cleaning and Road Works Department in the Capital Governorate, praised the private sector’s contribution to beach cleaning efforts across the country in a press statement Tuesday, during the launch of the “Our Beaches Are Beautiful, Let’s Preserve Them” initiative.
Al-Otaibi explained that the initiative is organized in cooperation with the Kuwait Continental Hotels Group and its staff, under the patronage of Capital Governor Sheikh Abdullah Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah. The program aims to raise awareness among citizens and residents, encouraging active participation in keeping beaches and public facilities clean.

He commended the ongoing cooperation between the private sector, community organizations, embassies, and environmental groups with Kuwait Municipality, highlighting their key role in protecting the marine environment and preserving aquatic life from pollution. Al-Otaibi added that the field team from the Cleaning and Road Works Department provided all necessary support for the beach cleaning campaign, with participation from representatives of several governmental and civil bodies. – KUNA
