KUWAIT: The Ministry of Interior announced on Saturday the arrest of 263 individuals in Mahboula during a comprehensive security campaign carried out by the Criminal Security Sector under the direct supervision of First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef Saud Al-Sabah. In a statement, the ministry said the campaign led to the arrest of 203 violators of the residency law, 23 individuals with outstanding arrest warrants, six in abnormal condition, 26 for prostitution-related offenses, four suspected cases, and one person “impersonating the opposite sex.”
Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef directed authorities to take all necessary legal measures against the violators, emphasizing continuous field monitoring and intensified efforts to ensure the law is applied to everyone without exception. The ministry affirmed that security campaigns will continue across various governorates and called on residents to cooperate with security personnel and adhere to laws and regulations to preserve national security and public safety. The operation involved Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security Affairs Major General Hamed Al-Dawas, along with field security teams from governorate investigation departments, the General Fire Force, and Medical Emergency services, as part of ongoing efforts to enforce the law, apprehend offenders and curb unlawful behavior.
In a related development, the Ministry of Interior announced on Friday that traffic and security campaigns in Salwa and Rumaithiya areas of Hawally Governorate resulted in 524 traffic violations and the arrest of 29 individuals, including wanted persons. The ministry said the campaigns aimed to apprehend violators, deter behavior endangering public safety and strengthen security presence. Authorities reported seizing a wanted vehicle, arresting two individuals with outstanding warrants and detaining seven individuals in possession of narcotics and alcohol. Nine vehicles were confiscated for violations, alongside seven wanted vehicles.
Additional arrests included five individuals in abnormal condition, seven violators of residency and work laws, five individuals with absence orders, one person wanted for criminal enforcement, one referred to precautionary detention and one referred to the Juvenile Prosecution. The Ministry of Interior stressed that intensive campaigns will continue across Kuwait, with legal action taken against all law violators to maintain security and enhance traffic safety. — KUNA
