KUWAIT: The Ministry of Health, through the Hawally Health District, inaugurated the “Tataman” (Reassurance) Clinic for voluntary testing and counseling at the Salwa Specialized Center on Monday. The clinic is designed to enhance access to early detection services while ensuring complete confidentiality and respect for patient privacy, in line with Kuwait’s efforts to develop its preventive healthcare system.
Dr Mariam Mansouri, Head of Public Health Services at the Hawally Health District, told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the clinic’s opening supports early diagnosis and helps reduce the spread of infectious diseases of public health significance by providing HIV testing along with professional pre- and post-test counseling.
She added that the clinic will also offer testing for other infectious diseases, including syphilis, hepatitis B and C, and gonorrhea, within a structured healthcare framework that safeguards patient dignity and reassures those seeking guidance and care without stigma or discrimination. Dr Mansouri emphasized that the initiative aligns with the Ministry of Health’s vision to expand early detection services, facilitate access to testing, and raise community awareness of infectious diseases and prevention methods, thereby contributing to enhanced health security in Kuwait. — KUNA
