KUWAIT: Minister of Health Dr Ahmad Al-Awadhi, Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood Dr Amthal Al-Huwailah, and Director General of the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) Dr Amina Farhan have underscored the significance of the 16th International Invention Exhibition in the Middle East, currently being held in Kuwait under the patronage of His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah. In a press statement issued during their visit to the exhibition on Monday, the officials described the event as a “scientific icon” for Kuwait and a source of hope and optimism, expressing pride in its high standards and professional organization.
Dr Al-Awadhi praised the dedication and considerable efforts of the exhibition’s organizers and judging panels, noting their precision and professionalism in evaluating submissions. He said these efforts reflect Kuwait’s promising future, stressing that innovation is not confined to a single field. He highlighted the rapid advancements in the medical sector through new treatment technologies and advanced devices, emphasizing the integration of medicine, engineering and other sciences in serving humanity. The health minister reaffirmed the state’s full support for initiatives that highlight national talent and position Kuwait among leading countries in innovation, commending the Kuwait Scientific Club and all those involved in organizing the exhibition.
In a similar statement, Dr Al-Huwailah said the International Invention Exhibition has become a landmark that places Kuwait firmly on the global innovation map and embodies the vital role of civil society in the development process. She noted that the Scientific Club has demonstrated an outstanding ability to integrate with government efforts in nurturing national talent and supporting innovation and invention pathways.
Recalling her experience around a decade ago as a member of the exhibition’s judging committees, Dr Al-Huwailah expressed pride in the club’s continuous development, noting its transition from a local platform to one with regional and international reach, in line with precise global standards. She also praised the club’s graduates, many of whom now hold leadership positions, stressing that the world is moving rapidly toward a knowledge-based, innovation-driven economy that requires investing in youth and channeling their energies toward scientific creativity.

Dr Al-Huwailah expressed appreciation to Dr Al-Awadhi and Dr Farhan for their attendance and support, describing it as a reflection of teamwork and cooperation among various sectors in service of the nation. For her part, Dr Farhan said that the language of today’s world is innovation and invention, whether in methods of work or performance, praising the advanced international level achieved by the exhibition. She expressed pride in the distinguished national figures and experts serving on the judging panels, noting that the evaluation process itself represents a valuable educational and developmental experience that enhances productivity.
She congratulated the Kuwait Scientific Club on the success of the exhibition, describing it as the result of years of dedicated work, accumulated expertise and outstanding performance that have elevated the event to a global standing. Meanwhile, Talal Al-Kharafi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Scientific Club and Chairman of the Exhibition’s Higher Committee, welcomed the visit of ministers and senior officials to the exhibition, which is witnessing wide participation from more than 30 Arab and foreign countries.
Al-Kharafi said the presence of senior leadership at the event reflects the government’s awareness of the importance of volunteer work and the essential role of civil society in supporting state efforts and strengthening cooperation across sectors. He noted that the exhibition’s continuity and successive successes affirm the ability of Kuwaitis to achieve international excellence, attributing its prestigious status to the distinguished judging panel comprising leading academics and experts from various disciplines.
He expressed gratitude to the ministers and to the leadership of KFAS for their continued support, describing their presence as a strong motivation for inventors and organizers alike, and affirming that Kuwait’s achievements are driven by the dedication of its people.
