KUWAIT: Minister of Public Works Dr Noura Al-Mashaan chaired a meeting of the Ministerial Committee for Monitoring the Implementation Status of Major Projects in the country on Thursday. The Ministry of Public Works stated in a press release that the 37th meeting of the committee discussed the latest developments in the implementation of major development projects included in the Memoranda of Understanding signed between the Kuwait Government and sisterly and friendly governments.
These projects encompass cooperation in the Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port project, the electricity grid, renewable energy development, a low-carbon green waste recycling system, housing development, environmental infrastructure for wastewater treatment plants, free zones and economic zones, and combating desertification in all its forms.
Dr Al-Mashaan conveyed the keen interest and directives of the highest political leadership to monitor all details of the implementation status of major development projects in the country, stay abreast of the latest developments, and expedite the procedures and executive steps taken by the relevant ministries and agencies with their counterparts in government entities across the world.
For his part, Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs and member and rapporteur of the Ministerial Committee, Ambassador Sameeh Jawhar Hayat, presented a detailed explanation of the latest follow-up reports with senior officials in all relevant ministries and state institutions, on the one hand, and with the relevant governments, on the other, regarding the procedures for implementing the agreements and memoranda of understanding signed between the two parties. He noted that the members of the Ministerial Committee are following up on all the recommendations they are tasked with implementing and are working to coordinate among themselves to achieve more fruitful results in order to accelerate the pace of completion of all major development projects in the country.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Minister of State for Housing Affairs, Deputy Chairman of the Ministerial Follow-up Committee, Abdullatif Al-Meshari; Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs and member and rapporteur of the Ministerial Committee, Ambassador Sameeh Jawhar Hayat; Undersecretary of the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, Dr Adel Al-Zamil; and senior officials from the Ministries of Defense, Foreign Affairs, Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy and Public Works. — KUNA
