DOHA/KUWAIT: Minister of Information and Culture, and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, on Saturday visited Kuwaiti pavilions participating in tourist and entertainment destinations in Qatar, coinciding with the ongoing 2025 FIFA Qatar Arab Cup. Following his attendance at the Kuwait-Jordan football match, the minister toured Darb Lusail and Katara Cultural Village, where various Kuwaiti institutions are showcasing traditional handicrafts and artistic works.
Al-Mutairi expressed pride in the distinctive Kuwaiti participation, noting that the exhibits reflect national identity and highlight Kuwait’s rich cultural heritage. He commended the Kuwaiti artists, craftsmen and participating bodies for delivering cultural content that aligns with the country’s history and contributes to promoting Kuwait’s soft power and civic message, supported by the nation’s leadership. He was accompanied during the tour by Acting Chargé d’Affaires at the Kuwaiti Embassy in Qatar, Mohammad Al-Zu’bi.

Meanwhile in Kuwait, Al-Mutairi underscored the importance of promoting national tourism projects and enhancing coordination among relevant authorities to achieve strategic objectives in this sector. Chairing a meeting of the Supreme Tourism Committee on Sunday at the Mövenpick Hotel, he stressed the need to ensure that tourism initiatives are well-organized, accessible and properly communicated to citizens, residents and visitors. Information regarding locations, schedules and registration procedures should be clearly available, he said.
The meeting reviewed feedback from event organizers and concerned government entities to refine upcoming programs, including winter season activities. Discussions also covered implementation mechanisms, inclusion of events on the Visit Kuwait platform, and effective marketing strategies to support national tourism growth. — KUNA
