Liverpool FC’s men’s team will spotlight ‘Play On’ as their front-of-shirt logo this weekend, continuing efforts to raise awareness for the club and Standard Chartered’s joint initiative to keep girls in sport.
Arne Slot’s squad will wear the special-edition shirts on Sunday (October 19) when they face Manchester United at Anfield.
This follows Liverpool FC Women using the ‘Play On’ logo when they faced Manchester City in L4 last weekend.
‘Play On’ – launched in 2023 by LFC and main club partner Standard Chartered – raises awareness of the challenges girls face in staying engaged in sport and the positive impact participation can have on their futures.
The initiative helps break down barriers that prevent girls from continuing in sport, from providing access to opportunities to inspiring confidence and promoting representation.
Following the match, the shirts will be signed by the players and be up for auction on MatchWornShirt, with proceeds going to the Standard Chartered Foundation, which supports underserved young people, especially women.
Supporters can bid on the men’s team shirts from October 19-26. The women’s shirts are currently up for auction, also closing on October 26.
