Meanwhile, Minister of State for Communication Affairs Omar Al-Omar affirmed that the special recognition bestowed by the League of Arab States upon the ‘Sahel’ application within the fourth cycle of the Arab Government Excellence Award reflects the political leadership’s support for the development of digital services in the State of Kuwait. In a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Thursday, Minister Al-Omar added, “We are honored to receive this recognition and consider it a pivotal milestone in developing government services and enhancing integration among official entities.”

Al-Omar expressed his deepest gratitude and appreciation to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah for their continuous support of the development of digital services in Kuwait and for their keen interest in enhancing the efficiency of government work and modernizing its digital infrastructure.
He explained that this achievement is the fruit of a collective national effort in which more than 42 government entities participated, united in their vision to provide a smart digital experience built on trust, managed by data, and delivered in a unified language through an integrated government journey for citizens and residents.
The minister affirmed his commitment to building upon its achievements, completing the application’s development phases, and enhancing the user experience. It emphasized that this recognition is a tribute to all government entities and the technical and administrative teams who believed that digital transformation is not merely a technical project, but a truly strategic national endeavor.
For his part, Yousef Kazem, the official spokesperson for the government’s e-services application Sahel, stated in a similar statement to KUNA that this recognition is a source of pride for Kuwait and a testament to its tireless efforts to develop government services. Kazem added that the award reflects the significant impact that the Sahel application has had over four years, a transformation clearly demonstrated through the development of the government system and the growing trust of citizens and residents in government integration.
It also reflects the state’s determination to move forward with digital transformation and leverage modern technology to create a distinctive user experience for conducting transactions and requesting public services more easily and conveniently.
The Arab Government Excellence Award was launched in 2019 by the UAE government in partnership with the League of Arab States.
