KUWAIT: Kuwait’s Environment Public Authority (EPA) affirmed Tuesday on its commitment to enhance cooperation, to support national efforts aimed at protecting environment and strengthen sustainable development.
The Authority signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Omniya Company for Eco-friendly Buildings and Green Utilities, as part of its responsibilities to support environmental initiatives, (EPA) Acting Chief Nouf Behbehani told KUNA.
This cooperation reflects the effective role of public-private partnerships in achieving sustainable development goals, Behbehani noted.For her part, Omniyah’s Chief Operating Officer Farah Shaaban told KUNA that Omniya is one of the leading initiatives in promoting the concept of a circular economy and encouraging participation through volunteer work.
The memorandum focuses on fostering a culture of plastic waste recycling, reducing its risks, and strengthening circular economy mechanisms through joint initiatives and practical projects, Shaaban added. — KUNA
