KUWAIT: Minister of Social Affairs Dr Amthal Al-Huwaila, met Thursday with her Emirati counterpart, Minister of Community Empowerment Shamma Al-Mazrui, to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and share expertise in social and family services. The meeting took place during the UAE official’s visit to Kuwait. Both sides exchanged views on issues of mutual interest and exploring strategies to improve services for beneficiaries.
During the discussion, Al-Huwaila highlighted key sectors under the Ministry of Social Affairs and the coordination mechanisms in place with local charities and nonprofit organizations. She also outlined the role of the Public Authority for Disabled Affairs in providing support and care as part of a broader national strategy.
Al-Mazrui presented the UAE’s experience in community empowerment, detailing the ministry’s initiatives and programs aimed at increasing public participation and empowering various segments of society to meet developmental goals. At the close of the meeting, both ministers stressed the importance of continued coordination and strengthening bilateral frameworks to advance social and family work and support sustainable development efforts in both countries. — KUNA
