KUWAIT: Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil, Sheikh Dr Nimer Fahd Al-Malik Al-Sabah, stressed on Monday the importance of consolidating joint global action in energy, scientific research, and advanced technologies to meet geopolitical and technological challenges and achieve sustainable development and human well-being. Speaking to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) during his participation in the launch of the ADIPEC 2025 exhibition and conference in Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Dr Nimer Al-Sabah described the event as a “manifestation of global coordination and cooperation in the energy sector.”
He noted that leaders in the sector are addressing critical topics, including meeting the growing global demand for energy, ensuring supply chain stability, enhancing market resilience, and developing flexible energy systems that provide comprehensive solutions for progress worldwide. “The current phase requires greater coordination and alignment of visions and policies amid regional and international challenges,” he said, emphasizing that such efforts are vital to safeguard Kuwait’s interests, those of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), and the international community.
Sheikh Dr Nimer reaffirmed Kuwait’s commitment to supporting development initiatives and enhancing the energy and petroleum industry under the leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. He highlighted that Kuwait’s approach focuses on energy security, diversification of energy sources, attracting investment, fostering transparency, executing mega-projects with smart technologies, boosting growth and competitiveness, implementing governance principles and promoting ambitious partnerships.

Sheikh Dr Nimer Al-Sabah underscored the significance of Kuwait’s participation at ADIPEC 2025, the world’s largest energy sector event, noting its theme, “Smart Energy for Accelerated Progress,” which emphasizes energy, industry, and technology advancements. He pointed out that the four-day event brings together over 45 ministers, 250 CEOs, policymakers, innovators, and academics from energy, technology, and finance sectors. The forum addresses the rising energy demand driven by artificial intelligence, emerging economies, and the ongoing global energy transition. The event serves as an integrated platform to strengthen the resilience of existing energy systems while expanding smart solutions and technologies that accelerate global progress.
During his visit, Sheikh Dr Nimer Al-Sabah toured the Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) pavilion at ADIPEC 2025, where he was briefed on development projects, modern technologies in exploration and production and initiatives to enhance operational efficiency. He emphasized that KOC’s presence highlights Kuwait’s role as a major oil producer and its commitment to digital transformation, smart energy systems, and adopting advanced solutions to ensure production reliability and resource sustainability.
Also visiting the Kuwaiti pavilion were Bahrain’s Minister of Oil and Environment, Dr Mohammed bin Mubarak, and the UAE’s Undersecretary for Energy and Petroleum Affairs, Engineer Sharif Al-Ulama. Organized by ADNOC, ADIPEC 2025 is expected to draw over 205,000 visitors from more than 172 countries, alongside 2,250 exhibiting companies and 1,800 speakers, including leaders in industry, investment, innovation, and policy, to explore opportunities and accelerate the development and implementation of solutions shaping the future of the global energy sector. — KUNA
