KUWAIT: Kuwait Municipality on Monday continued its ongoing campaign to enforce building and construction regulations across all six governorates, emphasizing safety, security, and the preservation of the public appearance of buildings. During a field inspection in the Sabahiyah residential area of Al-Ahmadi Governorate, Khalid Al-Fadhli, head of the emergency team in Al-Ahmadi, detailed the municipality’s role in overseeing construction from start to finish.
“The municipality issues all types of permits, including construction, demolition, maintenance, temporary permits, and certificates,” Al-Fadli said. “We then monitor construction processes, including modifications, to protect neighboring properties and ensure the safety of residents.”
He added that municipal teams work closely with property owners and contractors to facilitate compliance, providing guidance on building codes and safety measures.
During Monday’s inspection, teams issued more than four warnings to properties violating regulations. Al-Fadhli stressed that authorities will not hesitate to enforce the building code, ensuring all rules are properly followed. He also called for strict adherence to municipal laws, noting that inspection teams across all governorates prioritize implementation through ongoing field campaigns. The campaign is part of Kuwait Municipality’s broader, ongoing efforts to maintain public safety and the city’s aesthetic standards. — KUNA
