KUWAIT: Minister of Justice Nasser Al-Sumait on Sunday affirmed that the 35th meeting of GCC justice ministers reflects the spirit of Gulf unity and the collective commitment to advancing joint legal cooperation. Chairing the closing session in Kuwait, Al-Sumait stressed the importance of continuous follow-up by specialized committees to implement agreed decisions and strengthen the GCC’s reputation as a model of coordinated action.
Al-Sumait thanked his counterparts for their active participation, constructive contributions and the resolutions reached during the session. He also extended best wishes to the Kingdom of Bahrain as it prepares to host the upcoming 46th Gulf Summit, praying for continued security, stability and prosperity across GCC states under the guidance of their wise leadership.
During the opening session on Sunday, Al-Sumait noted that ministers discussed key judicial matters demonstrating the growing integration and coordination among GCC justice ministries. He emphasized that Kuwait’s hosting of the meeting continues its historic role in supporting joint Gulf initiatives, underscoring the belief that justice is essential for development and stability.

“Amid global challenges, our countries enjoy the blessings of security and stability thanks to God and the wisdom of our leaders, who built this cohesive Gulf entity and preserved our identity, hopes and aspirations,” he said. “We work together sincerely to unify efforts and strengthen cooperation to achieve our common destiny.” Al-Sumait addressed ongoing regional challenges, condemning “brutal attacks” by the Zionist entity in violation of international law and expressing Kuwait’s full support for Qatar. He described the humanitarian situation in Gaza as a blatant breach of international law and reaffirmed the GCC’s steadfast solidarity with the Palestinian people.
He conveyed deep appreciation to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah for their support of justice and Gulf cooperation. He also thanked GCC justice ministers, Secretary-General Jasem Al-Budaiwi, and the Secretariat’s staff and technical teams for their efforts, expressing hope that the meeting’s discussions would result in clear, high-quality decisions aligned with the aspirations of Gulf leaders and peoples.

He expressed gratitude to His Highness the Amir for Kuwait’s leadership during its presidency of the session, commending the Government of Kuwait for ensuring the success of joint Gulf meetings.
