ABU DHABI: Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi affirmed on Monday that the Ministry’s strategy centers on empowering youth and preparing a generation capable of leading the future, engaging with technological advancements and utilizing artificial intelligence to enhance media content. Speaking at a closed diplomatic session on “The Future of Information Integrity in the World,” part of the three-day Bridge 2025 Summit in Abu Dhabi, Minister Al-Mutairi emphasized that the Ministry’s vision is realized by developing youth skills and increasing their participation in media and creative initiatives that reflect Kuwait’s image and support its developmental role.
He highlighted the Ministry’s commitment to expanding partnerships with the private sector and civil society, providing young people with opportunities to engage in media work and launch innovative projects. The strategy incorporates technological advancements and AI to develop content, improve service quality, and raise awareness among youth about the knowledge economy, creativity, analytical skills and adaptability in a rapidly evolving digital environment.
Minister Al-Mutairi added that the new strategy aims to strengthen Kuwait’s global media standing by building communication bridges with regional and international institutions, promoting verification of information, combating misinformation, and training young professionals in standards of accuracy and credibility. He underscored the importance of external cooperation in fostering creativity and enabling youth to contribute to an innovative, interactive and globally engaged media future.
The session, chaired by Abdullah Al-Hamed, Head of the UAE National Media Office, brought together ministers and senior international officials to discuss emerging challenges in media reliability, technological impacts on content, and frameworks for transparency and integrity in the digital age. During the summit, Minister Al-Mutairi toured the accompanying exhibition, including the Gulf Cooperation Council Joint Program Production Foundation pavilion, where he was briefed on its key media projects and initiatives supporting regional content development.
The Bridge 2025 Summit, which runs until Wednesday, features seven main tracks focusing on digital content, artificial intelligence, human-centered media, film production, the creative economy, journalism and influence-making. The event brings together over 60,000 participants and 400 speakers, in partnership with global media leaders, to foster innovation, exchange expertise and advance tools shaping the future of media worldwide. Dr Ahmad Al-Mansouri of UAE University described the summit as a pivotal platform enhancing the UAE’s role as a regional hub for creative industries, while UAE Journalists Association Chairperson Fadila Al-Maeni emphasized its contribution to Abu Dhabi’s vision of connecting institutions, entrepreneurs and policymakers in shaping the digital media landscape. — KUNA
