ABU DHABI: Chairman of the Kuwait Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) Abdulaziz Al-Ibrahim affirmed that Kuwait’s participation in the INTERPOL Global Anti-Corruption and Asset Recovery Conference in the UAE reflects the country’s steadfast commitment to international collective action against corruption and to strengthening integrity and transparency systems. Speaking to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on the opening day of the three-day conference, Al-Ibrahim said Nazaha’s presence at this prominent global forum demonstrates Kuwait’s dedication to contributing to shaping international strategies for combating corruption.
He noted that the conference brings together leading law enforcement agencies, oversight bodies, and financial intelligence units from around the world. Highlighting the importance of international collaboration, Al-Ibrahim stressed that Nazaha places particular emphasis on establishing sustainable networks with regional and global organizations to exchange expertise and best practices, enhance the capabilities of national personnel, and improve information sharing to curb corruption and track illicit financial flows.

Al-Ibrahim added that Kuwait stands to benefit significantly from the conference, which provides an opportunity to learn about the latest global mechanisms for asset recovery and anti-money laundering, while supporting national legislation and advancing international judicial cooperation procedures. He emphasized that through participation in this forum, Nazaha seeks to build bridges of trust and cooperation, and to showcase the institutional and legislative reforms achieved in Kuwait to protect public funds. “Combating corruption is a collective responsibility that requires coordination and integration among countries and organizations to enhance transparency and achieve sustainable development,” Al-Ibrahim said.
