MANAMA: Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya met with his Bahraini counterpart, Dr Abdullatif Al-Zayani, as part of an official visit to Manama to head Kuwait’s delegation at the 12th session of the Kuwait-Bahrain Joint Higher Committee. During the meeting, the ministers discussed the strong fraternal ties between the two countries and explored ways to further strengthen and develop cooperation across various fields. They also reviewed regional and international developments and examined mechanisms to enhance joint coordination and cooperation aimed at consolidating security and stability in the region.
Following the bilateral talks, the joint committee convened, with Al-Yahya chairing the Kuwaiti delegation and Al-Zayani leading the Bahraini delegation. The session focused on reviewing key areas of cooperation, including economic, investment, security, and developmental sectors, and identifying opportunities to elevate collaboration to new levels of integration.
The discussions reflected both countries’ commitment to deepening bilateral relations across all levels and fostering closer strategic partnership. A statement published by Kuwait News Agency said the meeting demonstrated the two countries’ shared desire to advance cooperation in vital sectors and build on the long-standing partnership.

Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah described the Bahrain–Kuwait relationship as a model partnership, grounded in mutual commitment to advancing cooperation and strengthening joint GCC initiatives. He welcomed the Kuwaiti minister and delegation, commending Kuwait’s support, unity, and leadership in strategic infrastructure projects through the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED).
In addition to his meetings with Al-Zayani, Al-Yahya also met with Bahrain’s Minister of Interior Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa and Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa. During the meetings, he conveyed greetings from His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, wishing Bahrain and its people continued progress and prosperity.
