KUWAIT: The Ministry of Health announced Tuesday that Kuwait has recorded a notable advancement in the World Health Organization’s (WHO) 2025 Immunization Program Performance Index for the Eastern Mediterranean Region, achieving 91 percent in the evaluation of National Advisory Committees on Immunization (NITAG). In a press statement, the Ministry said the improved rating reflects the country’s growing awareness, strengthened management practices, and adoption of evidence-based policies within the national immunization program.
Kuwait registered an increase of 16 points compared to the 2023 assessment, when its performance stood at 75 percent. The Ministry noted that the country attained advanced levels across several key indicators, including the development of operational policies based on scientific recommendations, increased administrative and technical support for immunization personnel, and enhanced decision-making grounded in data and research.
This progress, the Ministry affirmed, underscores Kuwait’s commitment to reinforcing national immunization strategies and applying best preventive healthcare practices. It added that the achievement reflects the efforts of specialized teams and the technical capabilities of advisory committees, which continue to advance digital health systems that support informed decision-making and strengthen Kuwait’s overall preventive health framework. — KUNA
