KUALA LUMPUR: Kuwait’s Ambassador to Malaysia, Rashid Al-Saleh, on Saturday affirmed that investing in diplomatic human resources remains a fundamental pillar of Kuwait’s foreign policy. In a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) marking the conclusion of a week-long training course in Kuala Lumpur, Al-Saleh said the program was attended by seven Kuwaiti diplomats enrolled in the Saud Al-Nasser Diplomatic Institute at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The course focused on conflict management and trust-building in negotiations.
Al-Saleh stressed the embassy’s full support for the Saud Al-Nasser Diplomatic Institute’s initiatives aimed at developing national cadres capable of representing Kuwait efficiently and professionally at regional and international levels. He noted that the course is in line with the Institute’s vision of preparing diplomats equipped with advanced professional tools in conflict resolution, negotiation dynamics and trust-building, in response to the rapidly evolving challenges of contemporary diplomacy.
He explained that the training program placed strong emphasis on practical application, covering negotiation skills, effective communication techniques and the analysis of contentious situations. The course also included simulated negotiation scenarios designed to mirror real-life diplomatic settings, helping participants refine their skills and enhance their readiness for field assignments.
Al-Saleh added that the selection of Kuala Lumpur as the host city reflects Kuwait’s keenness to benefit from diverse international training environments and to exchange expertise with academic and training institutions in Asia. This approach, he said, contributes to improving the quality of training programs and provides participants with a broader international perspective on negotiation and diplomatic engagement. — KUNA
