Also, the Ministry of Health announced on Wednesday the launch of a new service allowing patients to instantly access decisions regarding overseas treatment through the unified government e-services application, Sahel. The initiative is part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to enhance transparency, accelerate digital transformation, and streamline healthcare procedures for citizens. In a press statement, the Ministry said the service was launched under the directives of Health Minister Dr Ahmad Al-Awadhi to improve transparency, save time and reinforce the efficiency of smart healthcare services.
Dr Hisham Kalender, Assistant Undersecretary for External Health Services, explained that the service enables patients to receive immediate notification of the results of their overseas treatment requests upon issuance by the Higher Committee, without the need to visit the Overseas Treatment Department in person. He added that the service helps save time and effort, ensures data confidentiality, reduces administrative burdens and supports the Ministry’s digital transformation initiatives. Dr Kalender further highlighted the Ministry’s continued commitment to the value-based care model, ensuring the highest quality health outcomes for patients.
E-services application
In another development, the Ministry of Justice announced on Tuesday the launch of two new electronic services — Family Insurance Fund Certificates and Court of Cassation Ruling Copy — through the unified government e-services application “Sahel,” as part of ongoing efforts to expand digital solutions and streamline procedures for the public. In a press statement, the Ministry explained that individuals may now request and obtain a certificate verifying the absence of a file at the Family Insurance Fund directly through the application, eliminating the need to visit the Ministry in person. The certificate can then be submitted electronically to the concerned authorities.
The Ministry added that the Court of Cassation Ruling Copy service enables litigants to obtain a certified electronic copy of their judgment through Sahel for submission to relevant bodies. The initiative aims to save time and effort for users, reduce the need to visit court locations and accelerate the completion of their legal procedures. The Ministry affirmed its continued commitment to providing services that remove obstacles and simplify legal transactions for citizens and residents.
Training program
Meanwhile, Minister of Justice Nasser Al-Sumait announced the launch of the second phase of the legal personnel training program for government agencies. The program, organized in cooperation with the Kuwait Institute for Judicial and Legal Studies, seeks to enhance the capabilities of legal staff in detecting and investigating incidents involving the embezzlement of public funds.
Speaking to KUNA, Al-Sumait said the initiative aims to raise the professional competence of legal employees, unify procedures across government institutions, and apply best judicial practices in public fund protection and oversight. He added that the program also works to strengthen cooperation between government entities, judicial bodies, and oversight institutions in support of national efforts to safeguard public assets and advance governance, transparency, and preventative mechanisms.
The second phase includes specialized lectures and workshops delivered by members of the judiciary and experts from various state authorities. The training focuses on oversight and financial control systems designed to unify working standards and enhance early detection of irregularities. Official figures recorded 107 cases involving public fund violations between the start of 2025 and the end of June of last year, spanning 34 government entities that were subject to investigation or suspicion related to public financial matters. — KUNA
