KUWAIT: The Ministry of Interior, through the General Department for Drug Control, announced the arrest of 16 individuals of various nationalities in separate security operations, during which quantities of narcotics and tools used in their preparation and distribution were seized. In a press statement issued on Saturday, the ministry said the arrests come as part of ongoing security efforts by the Criminal Security Sector to track down drug dealers and users, and to safeguard the security and safety of society.
The ministry stated that the seizures included 880 grams of methamphetamine (crystal meth), 745 grams of hashish, three pieces of hashish, 151 grams of synthetic cannabinoids, 40 milliliters of synthetic cannabinoid oil, three grams of heroin, 5,000 Captagon tablets, as well as a number of tools used for weighing narcotics. The Ministry of Interior confirmed that all necessary legal measures have been taken against the suspects, who, along with the seized items, have been referred to the competent authorities for further action in accordance with the law.
Security authorities affirmed that intensive security campaigns will continue across all regions, stressing a zero-tolerance policy toward anyone who seeks to undermine societal security through the trafficking, promotion or use of narcotics. The ministry also urged the public to cooperate with security agencies by reporting any information that may assist in combating this dangerous scourge, underscoring the collective role in preserving public safety and security. — KUNA
