KUWAIT: The Embassy of India marked the 77th Republic Day of India with a ceremony attended by members of the Indian community in Kuwait. In her remarks, Indian Ambassador to Kuwait Paramita Tripathi underscored India’s rapid progress and reaffirmed the embassy’s commitment to the welfare of the Indian community, addressing the gathering.
Calling it her first Republic Day celebration in Kuwait, the ambassador expressed gratitude for the support, goodwill and warmth she has received since assuming her post in the country, reaffirming that the welfare and well-being of every Indian national in Kuwait remain a top priority.
She outlined the range of consular services available, including support through four outsourcing facilitation centers, 24/7 helplines, social workers and dedicated consular and labor wings, highlighting the monthly ‘Open House’ meetings held to directly address consular and labor-related concerns.
Ambassador Tripathi thanked the Kuwaiti government for ensuring the safety and well-being of Indian nationals, praising Indian community associations and individuals for their efforts in supporting fellow Indians in Kuwait and contributing to social initiatives in India, such as adopting rural schools and sponsoring education for underprivileged students.

She noted that the Indian community is highly valued in Kuwait for its contribution to the country’s economy and society. According to the ambassador, Kuwaiti officials frequently commend Indian professionals for their skills and work ethic across sectors, including engineering, healthcare, education, accounting, and science, adding that Indian workers have played a role in nearly every aspect of life and infrastructure in Kuwait.
The ambassador urged Indian nationals to strictly follow local laws and regulations, promote Indian culture and heritage among younger generations, focus on health and fitness and participate in environmental initiatives such as tree plantation drives. She called on them to register with the embassy to enable quick communication during emergencies.
She also highlighted key events planned for the year, including activities marking 150 years of Vande Mataram, the Bharat Mela on February 13 at the Green Island beachfront, the International Day of Yoga on June 21, and a blood donation campaign on World Blood Donor Day on June 14. The Indian Ambassador echoed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s message, saying members of the Indian diaspora are the true ambassadors of India abroad.
