KUWAIT: The Indian Coast Guard ship Sarthak arrived at Shuwaikh Port on a friendly visit on Wednesday, reflecting the strong and enduring ties between India and Kuwait. The visit is scheduled to last four days. In remarks during a reception held on board the ship, Indian Ambassador to Kuwait, Pramita Tripathi, described the India-Kuwait relationship as a “deep-rooted and steadfast partnership built on mutual trust and cooperation.” She emphasized India’s commitment to further expanding bilateral cooperation across various fields.
Ambassador Tripathi highlighted the role of the Indian community in Kuwait as an important bridge fostering communication and strengthening the bond between the two friendly nations. She noted that the visit of Sarthak underscores India’s dedication to enhancing fraternal ties with Kuwait. The ambassador recalled significant milestones in India-Kuwait relations, including the late Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah’s historic visit to India in 2006, during which he held official talks to advance bilateral cooperation and discuss issues of mutual interest.

She also mentioned the 2009 visit of Indian Vice President Mohammad Ansari to Kuwait, and the December 2024 visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a landmark occasion during which His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah awarded him the Collar of Mubarak Al-Kabeer and four bilateral agreements were signed, including a memorandum of understanding on defense cooperation. Ambassador Tripathi expressed India’s aspirations for deeper collaboration in areas such as maritime security, renewable energy, digital innovation, food security and healthcare.
