KUWAIT: Kuwait Fire Force announced that the International Civil Defence Organization (ICDO) has awarded the First Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef Al-Sabah the International Commander Medal, the highest decoration conferred by the organization. In a press statement issued on Wednesday, the fire force said ICDO Secretary-General Arguj Kalantarli presented the medal and an accompanying certificate of appreciation to Sheikh Fahad in the presence of Kuwait Fire Force Director General Maj Gen Talal Al-Roumi.
Kalantarli said the honor reflects Kuwait’s prestigious international standing in the field of civil protection and civil defense. He noted that the achievements of the Kuwait Fire Force, along with strengthened cooperation and joint projects with the organization, have reinforced this position at both regional and international levels. He explained that the award comes in recognition of Sheikh Fahad’s leadership role and his outstanding efforts in supporting the civil protection system, promoting safety and security concepts, and enhancing the readiness of state institutions to respond to emergencies and crises in line with the highest international standards.
Kalantarli also praised Sheikh Fahad’s continuous support for the Kuwait Fire Force, which has contributed to achieving significant accomplishments regionally and internationally. During the ceremony, both sides also discussed aspects of joint cooperation in matters related to civil protection and civil defense. – KUNA
