Exercise reflects commitment to working together to address cross-border threats: Al-Budaiwi
DOHA: The joint GCC security exercise “Arabian Gulf Security 4” wrapped up in Qatar on Wednesday, following nearly two weeks of training that simulated different security situations. The exercise began on January 25 and brought together security forces from across the Gulf and the United States. The closing ceremony in Doha was attended by GCC interior ministers, senior security officials and representatives of participating agencies. Kuwait was represented by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior Major General Abdulwahab Al-Wuhaib, on behalf of First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef Saud Al-Sabah.
According to a statement by Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior, teams participating in the training carried out field scenarios designed to improve readiness, strengthen coordination on the ground and test joint response plans. Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior participated in the exercise through specialized teams that helped carry out the scenarios. The ministry said the participation reflected the efficiency of Kuwait’s security forces and their ability to work within a shared Gulf security system..

The exercise also highlighted the importance of cooperation and the exchange of field experience among GCC security agencies, the statement said. These efforts were described as supporting better security work, improving personnel skills and reinforcing stability across GCC countries.
“Arabian Gulf Security 4” is part of a wider series of joint Gulf security exercises aimed at aligning security procedures and improving preparedness for different challenges and emergency situations. GCC Secretary General Jasem Al-Budaiwi said the exercise strengthened Gulf security integration and reflected the unity of GCC countries. Speaking on the final day of the exercise in Doha, he said the training supported the joint Gulf security system. He added that the exercise reflects the region’s shared commitment to working together on security issues and addressing cross-border risks and threats.
