KUWAIT: The interior ministry announced the criminal security sector has arrested a repeat offender who impersonated a security officer and was wanted in connection with several theft cases. According to the ministry, officers from the Salmiya investigations office in Hawally governorate tracked the suspect following multiple reports of vehicle and license plate thefts, as well as the deliberate vandalism of a vehicle in Salmiya – cases that had previously been filed against an unknown perpetrator.
Following extensive surveillance, investigators spotted the suspect in Al-Nahda area driving a stolen vehicle with forged plates. He was identified as Mostafa Farih Manour, a Kuwaiti national with a criminal record, and was found in possession of a stolen car, narcotics, a military uniform and another vehicle he had hidden in the same area.
A subsequent search of his residence, carried out under a public prosecution warrant, uncovered a large quantity of stolen items. The suspect also confessed to breaking into three military tailoring shops in the Riqqa and stealing uniforms, some of which were recovered from his home. Investigations revealed his involvement in vehicle and license plate thefts across Salmiya, Andalus and Dhaher, in addition to shop burglaries and vandalism cases. Security checks confirmed he is wanted in multiple criminal cases and has a history of similar offenses.
