The No.8 spoke to Liverpoolfc.com at the AXA Training Centre to preview the game – read on to see what he had to say…
Dom, it was a tough day on Sunday and not the outcome you wanted. What has the reaction been like over the last few days?
I think [it] never happened in my career but [also in] a lot of guys’ careers that we lost four times in a row. So, now we have to stick together, that’s most important. We had a lot of meetings, we spoke with each other, but the most important [thing] is that we stay together. Because in a good time it’s easy to stay together but it’s the most important thing when it comes to a hard time, how we stay together. I think for Wednesday we are ready to show a reaction and that’s what we are going to do.
Is there confidence that the turnaround is coming? The margins have been quite small in the games that we have lost, obviously Cody Gakpo hitting the woodwork three times at the weekend, there’s been late goals…
Of course. This will turn. If you work hard, you keep going, the luck will go on your side. As you said, Cody hitting the post three times, we create chances, don’t let chances for the team who we play against. That’s the case. Sometimes it happens and now we have to just keep going.
