KUWAIT: His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah received at Bayan Palace on Monday Minister of Health Dr Ahmad Al-Awadhi and a specialized medical team behind Kuwait’s latest global medical achievement of performing ten remote robotic surgeries. The delegation briefed His Highness on the highly precise operations, carried out using advanced robotic systems and remote surgery technology, which highlight Kuwait’s progress in the field of robotic medicine.
His Highness the Crown Prince commended the accomplishment as a testament to the leadership of national medical competencies and their ability to excel and innovate. He stressed the importance of adopting cutting-edge medical technologies to provide advanced treatment in line with international standards, wishing the medical teams further success in serving the nation under the leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

Meanwhile, Director of the Physiotherapy Services Department at the Ministry of Health, Abdullah Zaman, underscored on Monday the crucial role of physiotherapy in supporting healthy aging by improving mobility, enhancing quality of life and preventing falls among the elderly. In a statement marking World Physical Therapy Day, Zaman expressed pride in Kuwait’s progress in the field, noting the expansion of physiotherapy services this year through the establishment of new specialized units and clinics.
He said the ministry has paid special attention to elderly care by equipping facilities with the latest technologies and training specialized staff to provide services tailored to older adults’ health and functional needs. Zaman added that while aging is a natural part of life, it can remain a stage of strength and vitality with proper preparation. He emphasized the preventive, therapeutic and awareness-raising role of physiotherapy in reducing complications associated with aging. He noted that World Physical Therapy Day offers an opportunity to highlight physiotherapy as a cornerstone for health promotion, disease prevention and achieving active, healthy aging. — KUNA
