KUWAIT: His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah chaired the 42nd meeting of the ministerial committee tasked with monitoring the implementation of major development projects across the country. The meeting, held at Bayan Palace, reviewed the latest reports from government agencies on procedures linked to key national projects.
Discussions covered Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port, the electricity and power system, renewable energy development and a low-carbon system for waste recycling. The committee also examined progress on housing development, environmental infrastructure for wastewater treatment plants, free zones, economic zones and efforts to combat desertification.
The prime minister directed committee members to continue joint work to overcome obstacles, stressing the need for clear strategies and methods to implement plans already agreed upon.
In reviewing progress, he underscored the continued directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah toward achieving Kuwait’s comprehensive and sustainable development vision across all sectors and accelerating project completion rates. Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs and committee member and rapporteur Ambassador Sameeh Jawhar Hayat said the meeting also reviewed efforts related to launching new major development projects.
He added that the committee discussed opening new avenues for strategic cooperation with various countries to deepen economic, trade, and investment relations in ways that serve mutual interests and achieve Kuwait’s strategic objectives.
The meeting was attended by the Head of the Prime Minister’s Diwan Abdulaziz Al-Dakheel, Defense Minister Sheikh Abdullah Ali Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, Minister of Public Works Dr Noura Al-Mashaan, Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Minister of State for Housing Affairs Abdullatif Al-Meshari, Director General of the Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority Sheikh Dr Meshaal Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Head of the Fatwa and Legislation Department Counselor Salah Ateeq Al-Majed, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy Dr Adel Mohammed Al-Zamel, and Ambassador Hayat. — KUNA
