KUWAIT: His Highness Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister, chaired on Thursday the 34th meeting of the Ministerial Committee for Following Up on Major Development Projects at Bayan Palace. During the meeting, His Highness commended the progress and success of strategic partnerships between Kuwait and friendly countries, noting the extensive cooperation achieved across various development sectors and the expansion of major joint projects.
His Highness reaffirmed the government’s commitment to advancing bilateral strategic partnerships to higher levels of efficiency. He instructed the committee to schedule the signing of contracts for major joint development projects with several governments in sectors including construction, transportation, logistics, and others. He also highlighted that the coming period will see increased visits by senior political leaders, which will serve as a cornerstone for strengthening economic, investment and trade relations with partner countries.
Ambassador Sameeh Jawhar Hayat, Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs and member and rapporteur of the committee, noted that the meeting addressed key measures to achieve a qualitative leap in joint economic and investment cooperation with various governments through the implementation of major development projects in Kuwait.
He added that discussions with international companies are ongoing to enhance cooperation, coordination and communication, with efforts to remove any barriers hindering investments. Key focus areas include development projects at Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port, the electricity system and renewable energy initiatives, low-carbon green waste recycling, housing development, environmental infrastructure for wastewater treatment plants, and combating desertification.
