KUWAIT: The Kuwait Philatelic and Numismatic Society opened a special exhibition Tuesday evening showcasing rare paper and metal coins from around the world. Held at the society’s headquarters in the Jabriya Post Office, the exhibition brought together members presenting their personal collections.
“This exhibition comes within the framework of achieving the association’s goals of spreading culture, promoting awareness of the importance of historical hobbies, and encouraging the new generation to take an interest in collecting coins for their historical, cultural, and civilizational value,” said the society’s president, Dr Adel Al-Abdulrazzaq.
He said the event is also “an opportunity for enthusiasts to exchange experiences and introduce the community to this sophisticated hobby, which documents important stages in the history of nations and peoples.”
Society secretary Issa Dashti called it “a unique platform to introduce the aesthetics of coin collecting and the importance of this hobby in preserving history,” adding that rare collections on display “reflect stories and tales that span time.” Dashti said the society plans to continue holding similar events to promote the hobby and highlight Kuwait’s role in preserving heritage. — KUNA
