KUWAIT: Kuwait is preparing for a noticeable drop in temperatures this week, with meteorologists warning of cold days and chilly nights. Kuwait’s Meteorology and Environmental Protection (PAMEP) said Saturday that the cold spell is expected to intensify by midweek, with daytime temperatures turning cold to mildly cold and nighttime lows dropping to cold or very cold levels.
Acting Director of the Meteorology Department, Dhirar Al-Ali, told KUNA that the country will also experience fog lasting into Sunday morning. “Visibility may fall below 1,000 meters in some areas and could even disappear in certain spots due to fog,” he said.
Al-Ali added that light to moderate rain is likely to fall in scattered areas on Sunday, sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms. “Clouds at low and medium levels will continue to accumulate, creating a chance of sporadic showers throughout the day,” he said.
Saturday morning saw light rainfall in various parts of the country, signaling the start of the unsettled weather. Winds are expected to be southeast to variable in direction, with light to moderate speeds, according to Al-Ali. — KUNA
