KUWAIT: Jamal Ahmed Al-Saleh, Director of the Cancer Patients Fund affiliated with the Kuwait Society for Smoking and Cancer Control, announced the launch of the 23rd annual umrah trip for cancer patients under the theme “Certainty in Allah,” taking place from December 17 to 20, 2025. The trip includes 32 pilgrims – cancer patients and their companions – alongside medical and administrative staff.
Al-Saleh told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the initiative is part of the fund’s humanitarian and support programs, aimed at providing psychological and spiritual care and alleviating the moral burdens of patients. He noted that performing the umrah rituals helps raise morale and instills hope and reassurance in the hearts of participants.
He added that the trip is accompanied by a specialized medical team and a full administrative staff to ensure patients’ health and organizational needs are carefully monitored throughout the journey. A preacher also provides spiritual guidance and support during the rituals.
Al-Saleh explained that the trip includes patients of various nationalities, both Kuwaiti citizens and expatriates, reflecting the Fund’s mission to foster psychological, social, and religious adaptation, and to help patients live with a positive outlook despite their health challenges. In conclusion, Al-Saleh expressed gratitude to all supporters, volunteers and staff who contributed to the success of the umrah trip, praying to Allah Almighty to accept everyone’s good deeds.
