KUWAIT: The Cabinet held its weekly meeting on Tuesday morning, August 19, 2025, at Bayan Palace, under the chairmanship of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. Following the session, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Shareeda Abdullah Al-Maousherji briefed the press. She said the Cabinet began by reviewing messages received by the Amiri Diwan from heads of some brotherly and friendly countries, addressed to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, regarding enhancing bilateral relations and activating joint cooperation in various fields.
The Cabinet also examined a visual presentation submitted by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, alongside senior officials from the Ministry of Interior and the Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI), on efforts to address violations in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and Khaitan areas. The presentation highlighted measures taken against unlicensed and exploited shops, as well as properties and buildings violating regulations.
Sheikh Fahad noted that several intensive field campaigns were implemented, resulting in the closure of a number of violating shops. He stressed the importance of ongoing coordination with relevant government agencies to enhance oversight and ensure such violations are not repeated. He also pointed out challenges faced by field teams, including difficulty accessing dense areas and attempts by some violators to circumvent the law, affirming that authorities will continue their efforts to uphold regulations.
Additionally, the Cabinet reviewed the minutes of the Ministerial Committee for Public Services, which included a periodic report by the Public Authority for Housing Welfare on the progress of housing projects. The Cabinet stressed the need for continued measures to accelerate project completion and address any obstacles. The session also considered the Green Urban Development Initiatives Committee report on landscaping and beautification contributions from government and private institutions along major roads and streets in various governorates.
The Cabinet approved the donations, expressing deep gratitude to the contributing entities for supporting the state’s efforts in enhancing public spaces. The Cabinet also approved the minutes of the Higher Committee for the Investigation of Kuwaiti Nationality, which included cases of loss or withdrawal of nationality in accordance with Decree Law No. 15 of 1959 and its amendments. — KUNA
