Football fashionistas, Kasabian gigs and Brian Clough impressions. Sean Dyche has always done things his own way and his first couple of days as Nottingham Forest head coach are no different. His opening press conference lasted more than 45 minutes with a wide range of topics and tangents discussed. A smile was stitched on Dyche’s face throughout. He’s clearly delighted to be back at the City Ground 35 years after failing to make the grade as a player at the club. The laughter has also extended to the training ground, where the players feel a weight has been lifted after a…
The summit between American President Donald Trump and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping could be a meeting between two good, decent people. Those who know him describe Xi as a kind man who is always attentive to the needs of those around him. Trump himself should be a good man, given all the effort he puts into appearing bad. Evil men usually don’t do that; they want to look good. However, individual goodness won’t alter the nature of the meeting or the direction it might take. Two heavy shadows loom over the gathering: the sudden cancellation of the planned meeting…
Morocco played a near-perfect game to beat Argentina 2-0 in the final of the FIFA Under-20 World Cup. The result, of course, was a disappointment for Argentina, who have won this trophy more times than anyone else, but not since 2007. With the performances of Argentina and Colombia, South America finished second and third respectively.…
