The United States is struggling to create an international stabilisation force for Gaza, as stipulated by the UN Security Council, due to disagreements with Israel over Turkey’s participation, two people familiar with the issue told Middle East Eye. The Security Council last month approved a resolution to create the force, securing official support from Turkey, Qatar, Egypt, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Pakistan and Jordan.
